Rose
Also known as the French rose or Apothecary rose, this is one of the oldest Western roses. Its fragrant petals are used for culinary and medicinal purposes.

Mildly alkaline, may reduce the availability of some nutrients.
Soils with minimal organic matter, typically found in degraded or over-farmed soils.
Important for hormone production and enzyme function, especially in the production of chlorophyll.
